How to Become Pain-Free and Injury-Free

For those of you who have been with us for quite some time, you are most likely familiar with our joint mobility drills because we incorporate them into your workouts on a regular basis. But, what you may not know is these simple join mobility drills also help align your body and keep you pain-free and injury-free. When our body is aligned, we are able to activate more areas in our brain so that we can handle life’s daily stressors and make better decisions. This is helpful whether you’re deciding to eat (or not to eat) that chocolate cake or how to finish that important project at work and meet its deadline.

How Can Join Mobility Drills Help with Cravings or Staying On Track?

Well, I’m glad you asked! It may seem like a far fetched idea that doing these joint drills translate to better decision making but it does. Here is how…

Our brain has 2 major requirements to SURVIVE. These are:

1) Fuel and
2) Activation

Our brain gets fuel in the form of oxygen and glucose and gets activation in the form of exercise and joint mobility drills. When the brain does not get these, we can suffer from lack of energy (fatigue), pain and tightness in certain areas of our body (like our lower back, knees, upper back, etc.), and cravings for sugar/salt. At its worst, people who are not getting enough activation in their brains suffer from depression and other anxiety disorders.

The reason that the above symptoms/conditions are very common nowadays is we just don’t get enough fuel and activation in our brain because its feeding pattern comes from bottom to top and back to front (see picture below). This is important because the area of our brain that is responsible for decision making and goal achievement resides at the very front of our brain called, the Frontal Lobe. The Frontal Lobe is the last area of the brain that gets fuel and activation so if we’re not consciously making the right choices to get fuel and activation there, decision making and goal achievement suffers.

How Can We Get Enough Fuel and Activation to Our Frontal Lobe?

The answer is simple but not always easy…move more and eat more whole foods. Of course, proper movement is key which is why exercising with a fitness coach is key so we can help you perform your exercises and your drills properly. Also, the more your body is more efficient at converting nutrients into sugars and sending it all the way to your frontal lobe, the easier it will be for you to achieve your goals. This is also the reason why proper breathing (getting oxygen) is critical to your health and well-being.

How to Properly Perform Joint Mobility Drills at Home

I’ve prepared 3 videos for you to review. Review them carefully and perform as instructed and be sure to follow with as much precision as possible. The precision is needed for the drills to be effective. For best results, do these drills at least 2x a day with 5 repetitions per exercise, per direction.
