Fitness Challenge Week 7: No Treadmill Workout

by Anna D

A lot of people tend to think that their only choice in when it comes to doing cardio exercises is to run on a fancy equipment like the treadmill or similar gizmos. The fact is you can perform a combination cardiovascular and strength training workout in the comfort of your own home or anywhere you wish.

You’ll be surprised as to how effective this combination is since you are also performing multi-joint movements while keeping your heart rate up. This is a killer combination when it comes to burning calories! This is also the concept behind how I design our bootcamp workouts.

This week’s challenge is to incorporate this no treadmill workout routine into your workouts either after your normal strength training days or on your off days. Watch this video now for the details:

The interval timer I use is called “Gymboss” and you can get it here: Gymboss Interval Timer. Here is what it looks like:

I like the pink one because it is bright and fun. This timer is great for those people who lose track of repetitions or don’t want to count seconds while working out πŸ™‚

Try out this no treadmill workout at least once this week and let us know how you feel after wards in the comment section below. Happy jumping!

I should take a 5 minute break when I’m working on the computer and do this, it should get my heart rate going.
