Fitness Challenge Week 6: Getting Your Beauty Sleep

Our busy lifestyles may sometimes get in the way of being in good health. Similar to last week’s challenge of controlling stress, this week we’re focusing on getting more sleep! Getting sufficient sleep is probably the easiest change you can make to your life right now yet it will create a huge impact on your energy levels and overall health.

I’ve been trying to change my habit lately. Getting to bed at a decent hour definitely makes a huge difference on your energy levels the next day.

I generally try to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night because of how much more energized I am when well rested. Lately, I have only been getting about 6 hours of sleep a night due to chores at night and I feel so much more tired! That extra hour has really made a difference for me.

This week I will try and go to sleep around 10 instead of 11.

That’s the spirit, Amanda. What you can also do is stop doing chores at a certain time. This should also help your mind wind down before bed.

Thanks, Anna! I totally agree and have really embraced the importance of sleep! I always leave 8 hours to sleep so if it takes awhile to fall asleep or if I wake up early – I’m always getting at least 7 hours…The biggest difference I have noticed is going to bed EARLY and feeling more refreshed with the same amount of hours vs going to bed later…
