The Living Room Workout

Often times, we get so busy that we put our health in the back burner. If we’ve consistently been going to the gym for our workouts then we get busy, the first thing that we take out of our schedule is exercise. I used to be this way too because I didn’t know any other way to do it. Now, when my life gets too busy and I can’t make it to the gym, I do a bodyweight workout in the living room instead. This cuts travel time so that I can still get a workout in even though I’m busy.

What if you don’t know how to create a workout. No problem! I’ve created the living room workout for you. This is a simple version of the bootcamp workouts but it’s still very effective. You don’t need an equipment and it can be done virtually anywhere even if you don’t have much space at home.

A few notes before you get started:

  • Make sure you pay close attention to form and do it to how I perform it as close as possible.
  • If you don’t feel comfortable performing a particular exercise, don’t do it.
  • Read the instructions carefully for maximum results!

Here are the description and instructions for the workout:

  • There are 4 exercises per circuit.
  • Warm-up by doing 30 jumping jacks and running in place for 30 seconds. Repeat warm-up twice. Never skip the warm-up.
  • Perform each exercise for 20 seconds then rest for 10 seconds (20/10). You may increase the time to 40/20, 45/15, or 50/10 when you want to make the workout harder.
  • Perform the next exercise after your rest period.
  • Rest 30 seconds after you’ve done all 4 exercises and repeat the whole circuit 2 more times.
  • Move on the second circuit and repeat as instructed in the first circuit.
  • Stretch

I did 20 seconds work and 10 seconds rest in the video to keep it short. Feel free to do the longer times that I suggested so you can burn more calories. Hi Lyn, unfortunately, we don’t have that audio. But, if you have an iphone, you can view it on Youtube 🙂
